South African Universities and training centers can showcase the work of their students through a poster presentation, and we hereby invite and encourage all universities with an interest in Prosthetics, orthotics and assistive technology to allow their students to participate in this opportunity.

Submissions can be made in the following topic areas:

  • Prosthetics
  • Orthotics
  • Education
  • Evidence based practice
  • Pediatrics
  • Seating and Wheelchair
  • Sport and Physical activity
  • Building P&O in developing countries
  • Quality of life

How to submit an abstract

Submissions must follow the official abstract template available for download here. Completed abstracts must then be uploaded in the online submission form.

The deadline for submission is 31 March 2017. After review of your submission, you will receive notification of acceptance on or before 21 April 2017. Posters should be prepared in an A0 (or smaller), portrait format.

All presenters must be registered to present.  Discounted registration fees for students are available for ZAR 3.750. Online registration is available here. This student registration category is not available for post-doctorate students, research fellows, residents and lecturers. Students registering at the discounted student registration category will be requested to show a valid student ID or official notification from their institution at the registration desk. Students are also welcome to apply for the volunteer programme and benefit complimentary registrations.
